PPFA 2010 International Framing Competition PPFA 2010 will feature winning entries from Chapter competitions in the United States and abroad, competing in the International PRINT and OPEN Framing Competition. Judging will be held Saturday, February 20.
In the PRINT Competition, entrants have framed the same watercolor – “Heart Rod Guitar” – showcasing wide varieties of designs.
In the OPEN Framing Competition, virtually “anything goes!” Past entries include a Blue Morpho butterfly, a 1913 stamp, Mardi Gras masks, a check for one cent, a postcard honoring Civil War veterans, an antique portrait, Hawaiian wild turkey feather lei, and Native American art.

Ballots close at 6:00 p.m. on Monday; the Popular Choice winner will be announced at the Tuesday PPFA Luncheon. Other winners will be announced in an hour-long celebration at 5:00 p.m. Sunday in Hall C, followed by the PMA Get Acquainted Reception.
Overview and Critique of International Framing Competition

Chris Paschke, CPF, GCF, Designs Ink, will lead an Overview and Critique of International Framing Competition entries, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, February 22. She will discuss design elements and apply analytical fundamentals to assorted designs. Take away inspiring design ideas, new techniques, and more from an opportunity available only once a year!
Understanding Competition Judging
Chris also will teach Understanding Competition Judging, a free four-hour workshop from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, February 22. Participants will take part in the judging process of a mock competition; and gain a better understanding of the scoring process and what is expected to win a competition! This session is for CPF designation holders, those currently in the process of CPF testing, or those aspiring to qualify as PPFA® competition judges.
