PSPA UK Code of
Practice
The Code of Practice for Schools Photographers and labs in the UK has been established after
consultation with representatives from all interested parties, including photographers, labs, schools and the
UK Government Department for Children, Schools and Families. The Code serves to explain the working practices
of the photographer in relation to negotiations with schools and LEA’s before the photo session, with the
school and pupils on the day(s) of the photo session and in the use and handling of images afterwards. It
highlights best practice as well as setting guidelines for operating.
