Fullerton Photographics wins grand prize in PMA Custom Photo Gift Promotion Competition

JACKSON, Mich. – PMA – The Worldwide Community of Imaging Associations announces Fullerton Photographics Inc. , Fullerton, Calif., as the grand prize winner of the PMA Custom Photo Gift Promotion Competition. Gabrielle Mullinax, president of Fullerton, accepted the $20,000 grand prize March 4 at the Official Business Session Keynote at the PMA 09 International Convention and Trade Show, Las Vegas, Nev.
New this year, the competition asked PMA members to submit their best custom photo gift campaigns for a chance to win up to $25,000. Entrants were allowed to submit one promotional campaign that incorporated three to seven promotional pieces (print, audio, video, specialty items, and more). The finalist campaigns were judged March 3 during PMA 09.
“We are thrilled to be selected amongst our peers in the industry for this prestigious award,” says Mullinax, “Everybody wins when a promotional campaign succeeds and gives back to the charities rooted in the communities that we serve.”
Fullerton Photographics’ campaign centered on the theme “Celebrate, Create and Donate.” The vibrantly colored campaign is aimed at consumers interested in raising money for a charity. Consumers can host an event where attendees create photo gifts at the store, and Fullerton will then donate 20 percent of the proceeds from event sales to a charity chosen by the event host. Fullerton also hands out promotional cards for event attendees to distribute to friends, extending the 20 percent donation offer past the night of the event.
“We wanted to introduce a fresh, creative platform for our customers by integrating unique photo gifts with a community minded promotion. Our ‘Celebrate, Create and Donate’ campaign offers our customers a creative venue and social atmosphere where they can relax, become inspired and with the brilliant technology available today … create! The best part of this promotion is that it has fostered a personal connection with our customers and reinforced Fullerton Photographics true commitment to our local community!”
Prior to the final judging, Fullerton received $5,000, a Crystal Award, and an All-Conference Connection Pass to PMA 09 for being a trade finalist. The other two trade finalists were Magenta Studio Photo, Montreal, Quebec, Canada; and SeeHere.com, a consumer photo printing and sharing website from Fujifilm U.S.A. Inc. There were also three honorable mentions in the PMA Custom Photo Gift Promotion Competition: Life’s Sweet Inc., www.lifessweet.com, Lone Tree, Colo.; Personello GmbH, www.DAZZ.com, Homburg, Saarland, Germany; and Shutterfly Inc., www.shutterfly.com, Redwood City, Calif.
