I can't find much on a side-by-side comparison but I did find a Top 10 review. See links below.

Here's a trick I use: enter the name of one product in Google, then try the words "compare" or "review" after it. For example, I googled "picasa comparison" and the entire first page was filled with the exact kinds of articles I was looking for. Hope this helps, Tom Hicks, http://www.jdphotoimaging.com
