The PPFA International OPEN and PRINT Framing Competition is the grand
finale of yearlong chapter-level competitions. Discover methods, be inspired by fellow framers, and even vote
for your favorites.
The "PPFA Framing Gallery" will be on the upper west lobby, at the second-floor entrance to the PMA 08 Trade
Show Floor.

The PPFA PRINT Framing Competition is your
chance to shine. Demonstrate your skill, talent, and experience in this prestigious framing competition. In
the PRINT Framing Competition, everyone frames the same piece of "art." The "art" for this competition is
defined as any image or object selected by the Chapter Leaders for annual competition.
OPEN Framing
Competition
The OPEN Framing Competition is framing an
item of the framer's choice that meets the requirements of an unrestricted open topic.

All PMA 08 visitors are welcome to view the framed pieces during Trade Show hours and take
part in the Popular Choice voting beginning Thursday, January 31. Docents will be on hand to assist
visitors.
Understanding Competition Judging
Thursday, January 31 ■
1:10 p.m. - 5:10 p.m.
Judge a mock competition and gain a better understanding of the scoring process and what’s expected to win a
competition! Chris Paschke, CPF, GCF, Designs Ink, host this four-hour class is open to CPF designation
holders, those in the process of CPF testing, or those aspiring to qualify as PPFA competition judges. No
charge; registration for Session F25 is required.
Overview and Critique of 2007-2008
International Framing Competition Entries
Join competitors and fellow framers for an interactive discussion/overview of the
Competition pieces. Chris Paschke, CPF, GCF, Designs Ink, leads this discussion on design elements and how to
apply analytical fundamentals to assorted designs. Registration required for Session F63, which will meet in
the Upper West Lobby.
