Our goal as an industry for 2008? Raising the bar of
quality and professional standards as united members of our long-standing, tradition-rich industry of school
photography. The PSPA 2008 Convention programming mirrors that caliber of upgrade in its outstanding slate of
28 Breakout Sessions, three Keynote Sessions, two networking luncheons, two receptions and a roundtable
session. This is a non-stop learning and idea sharing forum within our new format of a three-day program (one
full day and two half days).
The docket has something for all roles representing the
school photography industry – with topic tracks covering photographer techniques, business operations,

Conference Education
This
year's programming includes a broad range of topics, including: creative posing
strategies, protecting copyrights, lighting techniques, the commission structure of the yearbook industry,
the fundamentals of selling school pictures, booking and handling large one-day events, using green screen
technology, and so much more.
All PSPA sessions and events take place at the
Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel unless otherwise noted.

PSPA kicks off with an Opening Keynote from Murray Banks
on "Performance Under Pressure – Leading With Passion and Style!" The insights continue with Terri
Sjodin and "The Nine Biggest Sales Presentation Mistakes and How to Avoid Them." PSPA concludes with a
closing keynote from noted business growth expert Steven Little as he presents "The Seven Irrefutable Rules
of Business Growth: 21st Century Strategies for Building Your Company."

Roundtable Sessions: Five Topics for Five
Tables
Industry issues are covered in a “roll up your sleeves”-style session, covering five hot
topics affecting the school photography market.
PSPA Town Meeting
PSPA Board members will make up this panel session discussing issues and opportunities facing the school
photography industry and the PSPA organization as a whole. The PSPA Official Business Session will be part of
the agenda.
Supplier Luncheon – Wednesday, January 30
An opportunity to meet with school-portrait industry suppliers to discuss products and services and schedule
appointments during the PMA trade show. Each supplier (whom you can visit on the PMA trade show floor) will
staff a literature display table to answer your questions during this working luncheon.
Lab Luncheon – Thursday, January 31
New this year, the PSPA Lab Luncheon will allow school photographers to meet with sponsoring labs about their
services. Networking is the theme of this all-important working lunch.
