2008 DIMA Photo Kiosk Shoot-Out Winners
Find out who won this year's competition.
Thank you for participating in the 5th Annual DIMA Photo Kiosk Shoot-Out. The information
on the following pages includes set up procedures and voting criteria. The DIMA Photo Kiosk Shoot-Out was
designed to evaluate photo kiosk systems on a level playing field. This promises to be an exciting event, and
we look forward to your participation. See you in Las Vegas!
NOTE: The images produced at the DIMA Photo Kiosk Shoot-Out are the property of Photo
Marketing Association International. The winners will be included in the DIMA 2008 Conference Digital Replay
distributed to DIMA 2008 Annual Conference attendees, as well as posted on the PMA/DIMA website. There will
be a special PMA report published based on the submissions of the DIMA Photo Kiosk Shoot-Out which will be
made available to DIMA members and sold to non-members.
General Information
Regarding Set-Up
Set up for the DIMA Photo Kiosk Shoot-Out will begin at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 29 on the PMA 08
trade show floor, located on the second level of the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall. You should make
arrangements for your equipment to be delivered to your Trade Show booth, and then moved from your booth to
the second level concourse on the morning of January 29. Please clearly mark the boxes to be moved prior to
shipping them to PMA 08.
Each kiosk system entered will receive one 20 amp, 110 volt
outlet. Internet Access is not included, but is available for purchase through GES. The kiosk systems must
remain on display through the end of day on Saturday, February 2, at which time manufacturers will be asked
to remove their kiosk systems from the area. Breakdown will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2. After
the Shoot-out judging on January 30, companies should set maximum print orders at five prints to avoid abuse
of printing privileges by PMA 08 attendees. Companies should plan to have staff replenish supplies on a
regular basis throughout the Trade Show.
Regarding Voting
Kiosk systems will be judged by both a panel of consumers and a panel of self-service technology
experts. The expert panel will assign points based on operational
features/functions important to retailers, such as configuration and flexibility (each category will have
slightly different criteria). The expert judging will be based on the online submission, and not necessarily
hands-on use of the kiosk system. The consumer panel will be evaluating
digital photo kiosk systems for ease of use, print options, etc., which will be done based on hands-on use of
the kiosk onsite. There will be a winner in each category for both “expert’s choice” and “people’s
choice.”
Judging will take place Wednesday, January 30 from 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. There will be no interaction allowed between participating manufacturers and the judges, so please
DO NOT have sales/marketing staff present at the Shoot-Out. You may have technical staff observing in case
maintenance is needed during the judging procedures.
Winners Announced
Votes will be tallied and winners will be announced at a press conference at 9:00 a.m., Thursday,
January 31 in the PMA 08 Press Room.
