PMA Environmental Canada
The main goal of your Photo Marketing Association is to provide services and to be of
assistance to you the member. One of our main areas of concentration and where we have been quietly but
effectively involved for years is the environmental arena. Whether it is designing recycling programs,
pollution prevention initiatives or lobbying on legislation developed by the municipal, provincial or federal
branches of government, your Association is always working on your behalf.
In the past PMAI and the Canadian office with support from supplier members and consultants have been
involved with Code of Practice design for Victoria, ventilation concerns revolving around retail processing
installations in PEI, environmental training seminars for members and their staff and also for regulators,
implementation of a P2 Plan for the City of Toronto. This P2 Plan was dropped and in conjunction with the
City, a Best Management Practices process has been implemented into the City regulation. Currently PMA is
also working with the Greater Vancouver Regional District to implement a BMP for photo processors there as
well. These steps are just a few taken on your behalf at no extra charge in order to avoid situations which
could impede your ability to do business effectively but which also support our desire to be environmentally
friendly.
