Photo Safari: Zion National Park
Monday , March 2 ■ 6:00 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
PIEA will conduct our second all-day Photo Safari, this time traveling to Zion National Park, just across the border in Utah. Zion is Utah’s first national park and consists of massive canyons, unique sandstone cliffs, ancient historical sites, and an amazing array of plant and animal species. The group will find plenty to photograph, from the narrow canyon walls of the Virgin River (bring a sturdy pair of waterproof hiking boots or shoes with ankle support if you plan to hike the river canyon) to a variety of trails ranging from easy to more difficult.
Bus departs from the Sahara Hotel & Casino at 6:00 a.m. and returns to the Sahara by 9:30 p.m. Cost: $75 member/$90 non member with Educator‘s Badge or All Conference Connection Pass. $85 member/$100 non-member with trade show only badge. Includes a boxed lunch. Dinner will be Dutch treat at a casino buffet in Mesquite, Nev., on the way back to Las Vegas. Space is limited; register in advance.
Chairperson and Tour Guide: Mark Olson, College of Southern Nevada, Las Vegas, Nev.
