Mr. Kalow is a Managing Director at Soquel Group, a consulting firm specializing in Intellectual Property and Business Development. Mr. Kalow serves on the board of directors and audit committees of Pure Depth, Propell Shops, that creates personalized products on demand, LSF Network, an e-marketing services company, and the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz, CA.
Previously, Kalow was a Managing Director for the Venture Capital division of Trans Cosmos USA. Trans Cosmos is a major Japanese IT services company and strategic investor in US rich media, CRM and e-marketing companies. Kalow negotiated and closed 15 venture deals investing over $50M. He led investment rounds at Snapfish (online photo), Placeware (Web Conferencing) and others. He served on 10 Boards as a member and on 7 others as an observer. He also negotiated three Japanese Joint Ventures with Trans Cosmos including development, distribution and financing agreements. As a venture capitalist, Kalow’s acted as a management consultant for M&A, business strategy; budgets, financing; recruiting; corporate restructuring, and compensation.
Kalow was formerly co-founder and COO/CFO of Live Picture Inc. (LPI), where he managed multiple financings totaling over $60 million, two acquisitions and, as CEO, the sale of the Company to MGI Software. LPI’s imaging and Internet products won over 30 industry awards and its technology and products and technologies were licensed to industry leaders such as H-P, Canon, Kodak, FujiFilm and many others.
Kalow has been a speaker at numerous industry events in digital imaging and venture capital including the recent Infotrends Digital Imaging Conference. He has hosted the “Financial Roundtable” at the 6Sight and Mobile Imaging Summit, Monterey CA the past five years.
